Speaker Profile: Marcus Fulbright (@MarcusFulbright)
Seattle native living in Nashville since 2008. Alumni from both Belmont University (BBA) and Nashville Software School (Cohort 1). Marcus has been working as a software engineer since 2012 and have done everything from health care, to department of defense contracts, to marketing sights for small businesses. Currently employed at endpoint.tn.
When Marcus is not coding, you can find him brewing great beer, playing video games, reading a good fantasy book, or learning a new Iron Maiden song on my bass guitar.
Marcus will be presenting AWS Lambda: Focus On the Code, Not The Servers at 11AM Saturday. Common event-driven tasks, such as re-sizing uploaded photos, scaling systems based on thresholds, and sending notifications, can add a high level of complexity to code bases and their infrastructure. Learn how to use AWS Lambda to handle the computing resources needed to run custom code in response to an event, thus freeing developers to focus solely on the code base.
Sponsor Profile: Juice Analytics (@juiceanalytics)
We’re building Juicebox, a platform that will let anyone build and publish data-rich applications. Data is most valuable when people can interact with it, socialize it, and easily see how to act on it.
At Juice, we use Python/Django and AWS. I wish I could tell you more about the backbone of our tech stack. Let’s just say we sweat the d3tails, but always retain enough Salt in our diet. Do we chatops? You better believe it.
Thanks to all the wonderful volunteers at PyTennessee! If you’re passionate about data, we’d love to meet you.
